Nucor’s steel mill project in Mason County is planned for a site located between the unincorporated communities of Apple Grove and Mercers Bottom.

WASHINGTON (WV News) — More than $5.3 million from the federal American Rescue Act has been secured to support construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Mason County, announced Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Thursday.

The Mason County Public Service District will receive $5,342,217 from the Economic Development Administration Coal Communities Commitment Program to construct a new plant to serve the Nucor steel mill and surrounding communities.
